The 2017 Wyss Film Festival
Happy 2018! Ringing in the new year means that the 2017 Wyss Film Festival (the seventh annual, as a matter of fact) has come to a close. Throughout the year, I added exactly 200 different movies to the grand total. 200 is a lot. But, believe it or not, it was my lowest film count of all seven years! To be precise, 2017 was down 20 movies from last year's total (220), and down 10 from the previous record low of 210 movies in 2014. But the good news is that it was another quality-over-quantity year. I've been slowly picking off every film ever nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. And thanks to the children, we've been watching some of the old Disney classics that I've been neglecting. And with another year in the books, here is the running list of all the films I watched in 2017!
Shout out! Almost 100% of my movie watching continues to be FREE thanks to the Demmer Public Library in Three Lakes and the occasional evening of volunteering at the Three Lakes Center For the Arts. No Netflix, Redbox, Blockbuster Video or anything of the sort. And I likewise encourage you to support your local public libraries and non-profits.
