The 2020 Wyss Film Festival
Thanks to the global coronavirus pandemic, most of the world’s great traditions and institutions were put on hold in 2020. However, the annual Wyss Film Festival was able to forge ahead as planned. As a matter of fact, we celebrated a milestone. The Wyss Film Festival has now been going strong for a full decade! With all the time spent in quarantine this year, you may have assumed I would’ve done nothing but watch new movies all year long. And while 2020 did see an uptick in films for the second consecutive year (167 films in 2018, 177 in 2019, and 184 in 2020), it was far from a record-breaking year. With the Three Lakes Center For The Arts temporarily shut down, and the local libraries offering limited services, I relied more on digital streaming than ever.
